Social Assistance Overview
Mauritania introduced laws on sickness and maternity and work injury before independence in 1960 and laws on old age, disability, and survivors and family allowances were introduced after independence. A total of 34,000 poor households are planned to be covered as from 2020 through the Taazour Cash Transfer Programme.
